4K and UHD Filmmaking

We have added the ability to shoot in true Cinema 4K and UHD for films, documentaries and events. 4K is 4,000 lines of resolution and is 4 times the quality of 1080p HD video. It is the format of choice for Hollywood distribution and it is very common that the majority of recent movies that you viewed on a large theatrical screen were shot and distributed in 4K. We purchased the Panasonic DMC-GH4 mirrorless digital camera and the GoPro HD Hero4 Black Edition, which will both give us the ability to shoot video in 4096 x 2160 Cinema 4K and 3840 x 2160 4K UHD. The main benefits of shooting in 4K are sharper footage, reduced visible noise and increased color resolution. 4K video can be used for extracting 8MP still photos. It can also be used for down-converting to a very high quality 1080p output. In 1080p HD post-production, the original 4K footage can be cropped for more varieties of shots (wide, medium, close-up), digital panning and zooming, image stabilization and for overall sharper footage than 1080p...
